Population is small though.Ĭhronicles of Elyria. Unfortunately I don't think this game will ever be much more than a niche product but if you enjoy the theme and gameplay it can be a lot of fun, especially if you find a good group to play with. Gloria Victis is progressing well and they've made massive improvements to animations and fluidity of the combat/movement. Can't say I'm surprised though, it's definitely not for everyone. Project Gorgon I'm a big fan of but unfortunately I haven't been able to convince any of my friends to buy-in so I don't really play it much. I didn't pledge for this game so I haven't tried it at all and haven't been following it too closely but after all these years they don't seem to have much to show still. I want to have faith but at this point I'm not confident at all. If you have a VR setup and enjoy the social aspect of MMOs, Orbus is a really cool and unique experience.Ĭamelot Unchained I don't really know what to think. Very cool game but it's been awhile since I've played it so I can't comment on it's progress lately. OrbusVR is pretty much the definitive VR MMO. Would be a pleasant surprise to be wrong on this one but I'm expecting literally nothing. Have had 0 faith in the project since the beginning. I still have some faith in this project and it's the one game I'm personally hoping succeeds.Īshes of Creation I'm convinced is a scam. Pantheon has been doing a good job of keeping the community informed and seems to be progressing well but it's still years from launch.
I like the idea a lot of the timed campaigns + persistent world but I'm concerned mostly about the technical aspects of this game and visual clarity. When it releases and I try it out I'll definitely be looking for small skirmishes and avoiding massive battles, at least as it stands now.
IMO, the PVP is kind of a messy zergfest, and I always wondered how games like Crowfall/Camelot Unchained plan to address things like clarity. It's getting better but there's a lot of problems left unanswered still. I personally still find the combat/movement pretty clunky. I'm so desperate I'm holding out hope for Diablo 4 and its MMO elements.Ĭrowfall release is imminent but I'm not really convinced it'll succeed. I bet if Wildstar had come out today it would be a huge success. Star Citizen is still plugging away, and I think it will be great in another 10 years.īesides the current MMO options (WoW, FFXiV, ESO, GW2) are there any MMO's coming that will be good? We were spoiled by the early 2000-2010 with a seemingly new MMO every year. So are ANY Kickstarter MMO's actually doing well in good shape? Crowfall has kind of turned it around, but their engine is so bad I think it will flop. You may have seen my coverage of Ashes of Creation: or Crowfall: Īnd these were the three I though had the most potential, after ignoring Shroud of the Avatar and Chronicles of Elyria. I've followed three closely and all have had major issues I've covered, most recently with Camelot Unchained. I'm a huge fan of MMO's (like all of us here) and when new innovate ones popped up on Kickstarter years ago I was so happy.
